We are currently constructing a Monastic Residence in beautiful Lake County CA, overlooking Clearlake and Mount Konocti.
The Monastic Residence, as a prototype of ecological living, will incorporate solar and wind technology, recycling and water conservation principles, and hybrid and electric transportation. Along with aquaponic and organic food cultivation, and the practice of right exercise and diet, as an example of healthy balanced lifestyle.
The Church of Shambhala Vajradhara Maitreya Sangha has chosen Lake County for its natural beauty, clean air, and commitment to furthering ecology.
The Residence is being built in two stages:
1. The first phase of construction is a structure incorporating a 52 degree Pyramid, interconnected with two Monolithic domes. This will house the eight Monks and Nuns currently located in Cottonwood AZ.
2. The second phase of the project will add a further four connected domes, creating a Buddha Maitreya Shambhala Star formation. This will house additional monastic facilities, along with some facilities for Meditation Retreat visitors and occasional Dharshan teachings.
The project is currently under construction. Please support the completion of the project.
"Pyramids are Temples and when people come into them it actually enhances the quality of their life and body to be a Temple. Being in a Pyramid prepares them to enter a Temple and feel at home there. The only purpose for all of the Pyramids is to get your Soul back so that you will be able to cooperate with the Lord and be a Child of God.
The history of the world is that humanity has destroyed all the Temples and left them abandoned which is why so much suffering exists on Earth. When Buddha incarnates on Earth it is Heaven. He makes it Heaven because it is Heaven...but only to Buddha. Humanity needs to get back in alignment to the relationship of Temple building and living in a Temple.
By Humanity using Pyramids, it creates a unified field of consciousness called Christ Mass. The Masses are getting blessed by Christ. This happens not through the Pyramids but through Christ's work, which is Temple building on the whole planet and manifesting spiritual reality known as Shambhala, Heaven on Earth."

The Project Today
Construction began in August 2008 and has proceeded on schedule. Today the Central Pyramid stands completed and two of the Domes Shells have been constructed. All of the roads, wells and general infrastructure are in place and four Skysteam Wind Turbines have been installed.
However, we need your help to continue moving this auspicious project forward!
The next phases of the project are:
$250,000 to complete the interior of the 2 domes and finish Phase 1 of the project to allow the Monks and Nuns ('Sangha') to move in.
$950,000 for Phase 2 of the project. Constructing and finishing the remaing four Monolthic Domes and then bringing in dirt to fill in and level the land, covering over the ground floor tunnels and create the circular walkway (shown in the rendering above) that will surround the building, together with a circular embankment that will have Earth Etheric Weavers™ and other geometric forms added. This will be known as the Maitreya Circle and will vitalize the transmission of Buddha Maitreya's blessings into the land and secure the Maitreya Presence, for this and future lifetimes. The roadways will be paved and the land planted with bearing and flowering blossom trees. Aquaponic and hydroponic farming systems will be installed.
How to Help
Donate
We are looking for Donations at any level that are feasible for you to be able to continue to support the building process. One time Donations as well as recurring monthy Donations are welcomed. Any single Donation of $250 or more will receive a written receipt and is tax deductible.
Share
Share the Project with as many people as possible. It is a truly unique and spiritual project. The true importance of Monastic life is little understood here in the West. Throughout history, Monasteries in Europe and Asia have been the cornerstones of their communities, fostering greater well being, social values and human rights for everyone as well as furthering technologies. Universities, Schools and Hospitals the world over were institutions founded and developed by the Monasteries that helped evolve all education and sciences and cared for the sick.
Until recently nurses wore the habits of nuns and throughout Europe evidence exists of how monasteries supported the growth of everyone in the community in a real and practical sense as well as spiritual. Farmers had irrigation systems design by Monks, Monks practiced sustainable living such as maintaining orchards and fish farming and provided herb gardens for early medicinal remedies.
Fundraise
Arrange a fundraising dinner or other event such as a bake or yard sale or arrange a special event with a local supermarket. Sell things on Ebay. There are so many ways to help raise funds and every little bit helps! Please feel free to contact our Monks and Nuns to learn more and get connected with others in your area. Coordinate and share your efforts with your own fundraising webpage from firstgiving.com.
The Buddha Maitreya Earth Etheric Weaver™ is one of the Buddha Maitreya Shambhala Healing Tools™ that has been created by His Holiness for the Monastery as a planetary healing tool. It is also available to purchase and is a great way to support the project and help to bless, heal and transform your local area.
In December 2006, the Church acquired 165 acres of land in Lake County, California on which to establish a Monastic Residence for its Monks and Nuns. For many years, His Holiness has worked ceaselessly to help rebuild Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries as well as help support the practical daily needs of Tibetan Buddhist Monks and Nuns in China (Tibet), India and Nepal. This is His Holiness' first western construction project.
We need your help today to keep construction moving forward and raise the $2.25 million to complete the first phase of the project - to complete construction of all six surrounding monolthic domes as well as installing solar and wind generators, aquaponic and hyrdoponic systems and finishing the roads.
As with all holy temples and sacred sites, the monastic residence will be built in a sacred geometric pattern. His Holiness has designed the monastic residence based on the Buddha Maitreya Shambhala Star with a central 51 degree pyramid aligned due north and surrounding Monolthic Domes.
We are working with our own construction team and building is well under way. Monolthic domes are sustainable buildings that are fire proof, energy efficient and built to last an average of 1000 years. The shells of the first two domes have been completed together with the Pyramid and it is hoped to have the first phase completed later this year.
The land on which we are building is pristine. Set on an old, extinct volcanic mountain with views of Mount Konocti and overlooking Clearlake, the second oldest lake in the world, the land has some of the cleanest air in Northern California as well as protected flora and fauna. The land is also home to 10 yaks, many goats and llamas not bred for farming, but to increase the natural beauty and nature of the land.
"All the tools are based on geomancy and Shambhala itself is based on geomancy. The creation, the maintaining and the evolution of the planet, the cosmos, the system of life and God, everything. It is very simple and all just based on the simple relationship of Love and its evolutionary course.
When we apply geomancy, such as building a temple, we are actually building a place where energy of the Soul can be collected, stored, and placed into the Earth, and the Earth radiates more love, more kindness, more humanity, less war.
A lot of temples have been torn down, Buddha's have been destroyed, statues are just being defaced. All of these things directly correlate with why we are at war, why we are confused and have ecological problems, why we have a of sense of lack of ability to understand God in relationship to science.
Shambhala is needed for the grounding of the healing work and blessings radiated by the reincarnation of Christ, and for these to be focused into the Earth; and to raise the level of consciousness in every nation thereby Healing the Nations."

“When we build with geometric design and we work with vibration and healing and faith, then we’re actually working to heal the Soul.”
H.H. Buddha Maitreya
The central Pyramid structure is built to a precise 51.85 degree angle as found in the Great Pyramid in Egypt. This angle correlates to the principles of measurement that include the circumference of the earth, the distance between the earth and the moon and the distance between the earth and the sun, reflecting the mathematical position that the Earth has in relationship to our Solar System and the orbiting moon around it.
This specific geometric design helps to enhouse the sacred energy patterns of the Earth, aligning a very sacred relationship to us as Human Beings. When we meditate in the Pyramid it aligns the reality of Earth, the energy of the vibration of Earth in all of its sacredness, its merit, its goodness, its place with God, with Masters of Wisdom and Saints who have incarnated and evolved. When you meditate, just like in a great Temple, it is slowly bringing out that geometric proportion and increases your Soulful receptivity.
Once built, it will automatically establish an energetic resonance with all other sources of harmonious and healing vibrations, all temples, all other forms based on sacred geometry, all people praying or meditating, all sources of beauty and harmony on this planet and beyond. This resonant field goes out infinitely into infinity. The field of influence of the Sacred Site thus expands and expands forever by the power of resonance and its own continuous electromagnetic pulsing. It eventually covers the whole planet, but then continues out, farther and farther away, expanding its field of Oneness. It vibrates as well on a Solar level and on a Cosmic level.
Excavation began in August 2008. The first cycle of site preparation involved the excavation, leach field installation and laying sewer lines. A local astronomer came to the land and helped to string out True North by reference to Polaris - the North Star so that the central Pyramid isaligned True North.
Setting the Foundations
By the end of September the vertical rebar had been placed in the pyramid footings. Work on the South Dome moved forward and site preparation for the North Dome. By mid October we were pouring concrete - 7 trucks and 75 cubic yards of concrete later - we had our pyramid footings!
Starting on the Walls
Building the basement block wall of the Pyramid was no small task - 12 ft high and 200 ft long (55 feet on each side of the square pyramid base). Concrete is poured into the blocks every 4 feet for reinforcement, a total of 3 concrete pours for the full height of the basement wall.
Completion of the Pyramid basement walls
By mid November the basement wall of the pyramid was complete. From then work started on installing the anchors and tie downs to support the steel frame of the pyramid structure. Also needed was the building of form boards for a precise 51 degree sloped buttress on top of the wall for the base of the pyramid's structural panels. The South dome footings were poured and the circular form boards moved over to the North dome.
December was a big month for construction. The Pyramid has been engineered around a 6 ton recycled steel structure incorporating steel columns, steel beams and steel pyramid uprights. "I" beams were placed on top of the 4 basement columns and work on the first floor started. December saw the block wall completion for water proofing; the floor joists and decking for the first floor installed and the basement pour completed!
January 2009 saw the Pyramid begin to take shape... the first floor level of steel apex columns went in, a steel collar and uprights were added to support the structural panels, our structural panels were delivered and the first walls went up. The Pyramid has been designed around a highly engineered steel sub-frame, clad with SIPS structural panels. These panels create an airtight and highly energy efficient building envelope which will have a high "R" factor (insulation rating) of 30.
All four sides of the first floor were completed in February, the second floor deck went in and the steel Pyramid is up! The basement hallway of the pyramid had been framed out and the window wells around the basement windows underway.
The Pyramid Shell was completed By March 20th 2009, the Pyramid Shell was finished and a roofing crew had arrived onsite to weather wrap the whole pyramid. An experienced carpenter was hired to install stairs from the 1st floor to the top (3rd) floor. Basement windows were installed, and all openings cut for the remaining windows. The 2nd floor takes shape: it is a completely open space except for the stairs, with windows all around.
North and South Dome Tunnel Slabs
At the same time work progressed on the Pyramid, work continued on the North and South domes (the first two domes to be constructed out of the six planned). Tunnels will connect the six domes to the central Pyramid. In March, the slabs for the North and South Domes were poured, with the airforms ordered from Monolithic.
Making the Pyramid Weathertight
As we moved into April 2009, a red weather barrier was put into place on the pyramid. This is the permeable kind, to allow the structural panels to breath. Windows were installed – high quality tempered and laminated dual pane glass. When complete, the first floor will be underground and the window wells will allow as much daylight as possible to enter the first floor rooms.
Interior Finishing Begins
Once we were weathertight, work started to drywall the interior.
The Domes Go Up
The end of April 2009 was a very exciting time for the project. Monolithic Domes arrived to install and then inflate the airforms for the North and South Domes, and the connecting tunnels to the Pyramid. It was an awesome sight to see the domes rise up in the air. Each dome took about 20 – 30 minutes to take shape, and then another half hour to fully inflate. Inside, it was like a huge white cathedral.
The end of April and early May 2009 saw a maximum effort to complete the Pyramid. 25 to 30 workers were onsite every day, both working on the two Domes and also finishing out the Pyramid with flooring, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling. Roofers clad the exterior of the Pyramid with white metal coil.
"In Buddhism there’s a belief-system that comes because of previous lives of incarnations of Buddha and the saints that have come from that, and the different relics or places in which they have created sacred sites, sacred caves and sacred images and things that are left behind, even the chalice we talk about.
We talk about the different relics of Christianity, or different relics of different ages and each one of those things literally embody the contact between GOD and Earth and its relationship of vibration, its relationship of consciousness and evolution, a spark of spirit, that moves everything forward despite any negativity of de-evolutionary negative spin, that may be going on in the moment.
It’s these things, these sacred objects or these sacred incarnations that literally turn the wheel into a different direction, moving evolution onward and that instills faith at the exact same time, when that energy is increased on the planet, faith is increased at the same time, so that’s why churches are built around these relics, so when people go into these areas, come in contact with these relics - enormous, millions of people are transcended from the lack of faith they had in previous lives, into a greater faith in that life because they come closer and closer in contact with saints.
So there’s almost a science to it--whether it be found in Christianity or in Buddhism-- that if we restore the process of historical saints and our historical relics and our historical sites, and we actually bring them back to their natural ability for us to go and meditate, for us to receive the blessings from the water that comes from many different places that have just sprung up, due to literally Mother Mary appearing there or Jesus appearing there or a saint placing their finger near the stone and all of a sudden water comes out, many of those places have miraculously healed people through the increasing of faith.
So there is a science, that if we move into this science and we actually restore that ancient science of Planetary reincarnation and Planetary Healing through the reincarnation of Saints we can quicken our process of not only becoming Saints ourselves, and opening up faith, but actually healing the planet because healing virtues and healing qualities come from these things. So many of our limitations, whether it be disease our emotional problems, or just problems in general, thinking that we have no way out - There is a way out, by actually coming in contact with the Science of God."
